EBT/ SNAP PLATFORM FOR THE BRONX - DISTRICT 12
1. Pamela will advocate, and work with State and Federal elected officials to fight for more money to be allocated to the EBT/ SNAP card per month 2. Pamela will advocate for all Supermarkets/ Food Outlets/ Farmers Markets to offer a specific discount at the checkout registers when the EBT/SNAP card is presented as payment, and thus allowing the EBT/ SNAP monies to last out a little longer. 3. Pamela will advocate for the EBT/ SNAP card to be used to purchase hot food/ take-out food, as many of the low income do not have a stove/ oven to cook.
DISABILITY JUSTICE PLATFORM - BRONX DISTRICT 12
"We must fight to protect our Disabled Community"
(1) All residential buildings in the Bronx must be fully ADA accessible, along with all businesses, especially the MTA. (2) The City must offer financial incentives to allow all of the Bronx residential buildings and businesses to become fully ADA accessible by 2030. (3) Financial incentives from the City must be offered to employers in the Bronx to hire disabled employees. (4) The disabled children of the Bronx to be given the very best education possible, with specialized schools and qualified special needs teachers made available. (5) All schools in the Bronx shall be fully accessible according to federal ADA law. At present over 50% are inaccessible for wheelchairs, which is a disgrace in 2021.
